The Power of Dad
When both parents attend Sunday School regularly, 72 percent of the children attend when grown. When only the father attends, 55 percent of the children attend when grown. When only the mother attends, 15 percent of the children attend when grown. When neither parent attends, 6 percent of their children attend when grown. (Dave Simmons, Dad the Family Mentor, Victor Books, 1992)
The risk of substances abuse for boys is 68 percent higher with a fair to poor relationship with dad than with a good to excellent relationship with dad. It’s only 30 percent higher for a boy with a single mother. In other words, a boy is better off with a single mother than with a fair to poor relationship with his dad. (Josh McDowell, Right From Wrong, Word Publishing, 1994)
Never underestimate the power of Dad’s influence, - for good or bad.
